As an old fogey (ok not really... in my 30s, probably similar to Rose) I wholeheartedly agree... the back gets to be rather annoying and I expected that to be it.
That being said, after the first crack she put her hand in her pocket, which gave me an inkling that it may not be the ol' back.

What are you talking about? Aoi means blue, not purple. Purple would be murasaki.

I know Aoi means blue and her new bullet is pose to be the color purple but the new move she learn after Aoi taught her and is bit similar to Aoi's technique hence the name "Purple(Aoi)bullet"

I agree that she learned it from Aoi and that she dedicated that hit to her, but the name itself is "Purple Bullet" and isn't related to Aoi at all. Listen to the audio during the hit, ignoring the subtitles - she wasn't saying the shot's name, the subtitles just added that.
It would have been cool if they had kept the blue for that move she learns from Aoi - very fitting... but I guess they just really missed the opportunity.

Oh I see. I didn't register the word she said... and looking back at it, I didn't even register the written "Aoi". That being said, when she hits it she says "Aoi" as an internal monologue, not as the name of the bullet. "Kagayake Aoi" is what she says and means "shine Aoi" - she was basically just saying "I'll dazzle them with what you taught me, Aoi".
After that (at 16:28 in the video), she clearly states it's "Purple Bullet" name. The shot is not named "Aoi". Looks like this is just the translators adding the name during the hit, even though she didn't say it's name at the time.
